How combination lists work
An and list keeps words that contain both letters at least once, in any position. Picking the same letter twice keeps words that use that letter two or more times. A without list keeps words that contain the first letter and drops every word containing the second.

Frequently asked questions
What does "words with Q and U" mean?
Every word on that list contains at least one Q and at least one U, anywhere and in any order. In this dictionary that is 4,061 words.
How many words have a Q but no U?
70 words in the selected dictionary. The best known are QI, QAT, QAID and FAQIR. See the full Q without U list.
Can I search for the same letter twice?
Yes. Choose the same letter on both sides with "and" to list words that contain it at least twice, for example words with two Zs. The double-letter hub has the list for every letter.
How does this help with Wordle?
Use "and" for two yellow letters you know are in the answer, and "without" to drop a gray letter. Combine it with the five-letter word lists to narrow the guesses further.
