How Pinpoint works
The first clue appears, and you type a guess for the category. Each wrong guess reveals another clue, up to five. Guess the category after one clue and you're a genius; after five, you scraped through. The category can be specific ("Things with keys", "___ cake") rather than a broad topic, so precise guesses do better.
Tips
- Think of fill-in-the-blank patterns. Many categories are words that come before or after a common word.
- Use each clue to eliminate. The second clue usually rules out the most obvious first guess. Ask what the two have in common that nothing else does.
- Be specific. "Things in a fireplace" is better than "home".
- Reveal at your pace. Our clue rows open individually, so you can mimic the game and guess after each one.
